The mission of the Culture and Leisure Administration is to create a meaningful leisure time for the residents of Falun and to provide a wide range of activities and meeting points that offer stimulation, creativity, and opportunities for a physically active life.
We are now looking for three summer substitute leisure leaders for the target group of young people aged 13 – 18 years.
We offer a developing and flexible job that engages and challenges, together with knowledgeable colleagues and experienced managers. It is important for us to work as a team and to be a representative of the municipality as well as a good role model. Participation and influence are fundamental values that shape the operations with you based on a coaching approach.
You will meet the target group in various locations in the municipality of Falun. Our starting point is that meaningful and qualitative cultural and leisure activities increase quality of life and contribute to improved public health. Job Responsibilities
The assignment involves both leading and creating conditions for open youth activities in the Culture and Leisure Administration with a focus on the target group of young people (13 – 18 years).
Working with young people's free time means conducting attractive and inclusive activities in the cultural and leisure field in a safe environment where young people's interests and needs are captured. Meeting the public in conversations at various meeting places is a natural part of the job, as well as both leading and creating activities together with the target group.
The offerings should be varied and appeal to a broad audience. It can be everything from planned to spontaneous activities or larger events. The work can be physically demanding in certain situations and environments. We work to spread a healthy and democratic value base, as well as to strengthen young people's empowerment and ability to be active citizens.
Based on young people's lifestyles, differences, current trends, and wishes, we create an attractive meeting place where participants feel comfortable and develop.
Qualifications
The role requires:
- Experience in leading or creating conditions for open youth activities in the cultural and leisure field
- Experience in building relationships with understanding and acceptance to discuss current social issues when meeting the target group
- Driver's license (B) and the ability to drive a minibus with a manual transmission.
Personal Qualities
You are creative and have the drive to develop activities together with both young people and the workgroup, and you are interested in meeting the target group in various environments and have a coaching approach to help participants develop. As a person, you can take initiative, collaborate, and work inclusively in ways that allow young people to have influence over the activities.
You have the ability to work independently and in a structured manner, as well as follow instructions and agreements. You are flexible and adapt to new circumstances while being solution-oriented and willing to share your ideas. You are attentive, patient, and present for the young people, but can also be clear about boundaries and rules.
You understand how different linguistic and cultural backgrounds shape individuals and society.
Desirable Qualifications
- Educational background in pedagogy, leadership training related to cultural activities or physical activity focusing on children and youth
- Knowledge of how socioeconomic conditions play an important role in our opportunities to participate in and choose leisure activities.
- Experience collaborating with various stakeholders
- Good knowledge of the Convention on the Rights of the Child
- Good knowledge of coaching approaches
- Broad knowledge in sound, as well as image and form
- You are comfortable working with digital systems and consider digital tools to be a given
Employment Conditions
Intermittent employment/hourly paid during the period from June 9 to August 24, 2025.
The work is scheduled from Monday to Saturday, focusing on afternoons and evenings. The work is conducted throughout the municipality of Falun, both indoors and outdoors.
